Saguenay's port of call wins the « Best Port Welcome » price
at the Dream World Cruise Destinations Awards!
March 24 2010 - The mayor of Saguenay and president of Promotion
Saguenay, Jean Tremblay, is proud to announce that Saguenay port of call has
won the "Best Port Welcome" (best passengers' welcome in the World). This reward is given
by the prestigious magazine Dream World Cruise Destinations. The other winners in this category are the ports of Dos Bocas (Mexico), Guadeloupe and Nagazaki (Japan).
The Dream World Cruise Destinations Awards are awarded
annually to the ports and destinations that provide a service beyond
expectations to the ships, passengers and crew. The awards aim to recognize "the ports and destinations that has
provided outstanding services" according to the magazine. The selection is done
via a survey of Cruise Lines.
"It's a great honour for us to receive this award which
underline the quality of our welcome for which
we worked so hard from the very beginning", has
declared the mayor.
All the ship's passengers in 2009 were greeted by over
50 characters of the huge live show "La Fabuleuse". Professional
guides and staff were on the site to provide information about the area and the region. Also, artists and craftspeople are there offering
to the passengers their arts and crafts.
"This award is not only accountable to the team of
Promotion Saguenay but also the legendary warmth of the people of the region,
"concluded the Mayor.
