Disney Magic arrives in Saguenay

It is on Monday, September 24, that Disney Cruise Line’s long-awaited Disney Magic ship will arrive at Saguenay port of call for its first of two stopovers. The iconic ship is expected from 10 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. with on board 2 700 passengers, including 1,750 cruise passengers and 945 crew members. For the occasion, the port area will be bubbling with festivities.

On board, nearly a third of the passengers are children, they will go ashore at Saguenay. “For us, it’s never seen before and it’s really stimulating! says Priscilla Nemey, Executive Vice President at Promotion Saguenay. “Welcoming a family clientele brings a lot of challenges and that’s why the planned activities have been adapted. We are proud that our destination has been chosen by the prestigious cruise line”. She adds “This will greatly help the growth of our beautiful region».

In addition to the volunteer actors of La Fabuleuse, the companies les Fous du roi and the Tantalou entertainment, Promotion Saguenay is working for the very first time with the Patro de Jonquière who will complete the entertainment with a huge Mickey Mouse cinema, from 1928 up to now.

A destination with great potential
With record number of visitors year after year and several awards for “Best port reception in the world”, the reliability of the Saguenay port of call is well established. The Disney Magic visit once again confirms the region’s high potential for international cruises. Coming from Halifax, Saguenay will be the ship’s first stop in the St. Lawrence.

A week of 22,598 visitors
Last week, 22,598 visitors came at the Baie des Ha! Ha! For the week of September 24 to 30, 8090 visitors are expected, including cruise passengers and crew members.
