Saga Cruises: A signature blend of refinement and relaxation

Saga Sapphire

Based in the United Kingdom, Saga proposes a vast selection of holiday choices for all tastes and all destinations.   Travel offerings include cruise packages operated by the company's Sea Cruises division. The company operates two ships, the Saga Sapphire and Saga Pearl II which sail the seas for the pleasure of passengers.

Saga differs from other cruise companies most notably from the standpoint of ship size. Indeed, their largest ship, the Saga Sapphire, accommodates a maximum of only 720 passengers, while the Saga Pearl II accommodates a little fewer than four hundred. Saga prides itself in onboard service excellence, with a minimum of two crew members assigned to every three passengers. Saga qualifies the experience offered passengers as sailing in comfort and style. Onboard, everyone enjoy access to golf and afternoon tea in a warm, friendly, relaxing environment.

During the 2015 season, the Saint Lawrence had the pleasure of an inaugural visit by the Saga Sapphire as part of a transatlantic voyage of more than 30 days. Cruise passengers enjoyed an exceptional opportunity to appreciate the defining attributes of each of the nine Saint Lawrence ports of call:   Magdalen Islands, Gaspé, Havre Saint-Pierre, Sept-Îles, Baie-Comeau, Saguenay, Québec, Trois-Rivières and Montréal. What is more, to underscore their inaugural visit to the shores of the Saint Lawrence, Saga Cruises dazzled passengers with a fireworks display during the ship's stay in port at Montréal.

Given the success of the positive inaugural experience, Saga Cruises plans to return to the Saint Lawrence in 2017. We can only hope that the chosen route will once again allow passengers to stop in at each of the nine Saint Lawrence ports of call.
