  • Baie-Comeau is part of the UNESCO’s Manicouagan-Uapishka World Biosphere Reserve, one of the largest biospheres in the world.
  • Manic-5 hydroelectric dam contains enough concrete to build a sidewalk all the way from North Pole to the South Pole! Its huge reservoir was formed by an asteroid that landed 214 million years ago!
  • The Garden of the Glaciers’ Seashell Valley is the highest seashell bank in the world (3 m / 10 ft) with a 90% purity rate!
  • St. Amelie’s Church has five times more frescoes than the Sistine Chapel!
  • St. Pancrace factory is the first microbrewery on the North Shore and offers local flavoured beers brewed on site. It was named after the St. Pancrace bay which served the bootleggers during the alcohol prohibition.
