Let the celebrations begin!

Maasdam

Spring celebrations, the magic of summer, the promise of upcoming holidays, the urge to kick back and relax or perhaps discover something new… Yes, everything is ready and in place for the arrival of the first cruise ships of the season to ports of call in Québec. Maasdam, Caledonia, Clelia II, Princess Danae….  these evocative names and elegant silhouettes will be making appearances at ports of call along the St Lawrence as of May 18th. Check the cruise timetable for arrival and departure details.

Cruise passengers will delight in the quality of portside welcome facilities and the comprehensive array of land- and water-based excursion possibilities. Some will want to explore Forillon National Park of Canada, while others will be interested in observing coastal marine life up close from a sea kayak, or donning scuba gear and exploring the sea floor. Others yet will revel in making acquaintance with colourful Québec artisans in locations across the region or taking part in any one of the myriad festivals planned for the 2009 summer season.

For an insight into what awaits cruise passengers at each port of call, take the time to view the short video presentations produced by Ralph Grizzle, editor of a magazine entitled The Avid Cruiser. Discover each of Montréal, Québec, Trois-Rivières, Saguenay, Havre-Saint-Pierre, Baie-Comeau, the Magdalen Islands and the Gaspé peninsula. You will want to book passage on the next available St Lawrence cruise!

Interested in learning more about Mr Grizzle’s St Lawrence experience? He will be on site at Saguenay from June 16th to 18th for the 2009 Canada New England Cruise Symposium.   In the meantime, you can follow him on Holland America’s blog where Quebec will be featured until May 25th.

Come join in the 2009 summer celebrations!
